Frequently asked questions

How do I enable Torvi Shade?

Open the Torvi Shade Mac app and choose Open Safari settings. In Safari → Settings → Extensions, enable the extension and choose which websites it can access. Reload an open page if necessary, then use the moon icon in Safari’s toolbar.

Why does Safari ask for website access?

Torvi Shade needs to read and change page styles to adjust colours. You control which websites it can access through Safari’s extension settings. A page without permission cannot be adjusted by the extension.

How do I keep a website’s original appearance?

Open the moon menu on that website. Under This website, choose Original appearance. Always dark applies dark mode to that website; Default follows your general settings. The main switch turns all adjustments off, including websites set to Always dark.

Why is a page still light?

Check website access, the main switch and the page’s setting. Follow system keeps pages light while your Mac uses a light appearance. A website’s own dark theme can also be kept instead of changed. Some pages, including Safari’s internal pages, cannot be adjusted.

What if colours or buttons look wrong?

Open Advanced options and adjust brightness, contrast and warmth. Try Show button borders for unclear controls, or keep the website’s original appearance. Website layouts and restrictions vary, so Torvi Shade cannot guarantee the same result on every page.

Does Torvi Shade collect my browsing activity?

No. Torvi Studio does not collect browsing history, page content, personal information or usage statistics through Torvi Shade. Settings and website choices are stored locally on your Mac. When needed, the extension fetches stylesheets and small interface icons from sources the page already references. Those servers receive normal network requests under their own privacy policies. Read the details.

Is there a subscription or account?

No. Torvi Shade is completely free and has no account, subscription, analytics tools, tracking or advertising SDK.
